Care and Maintenance
- Location: The battery installation location must remain a clean, dry and well-ventilated location, free from excessive dust, moisture, salt spray, chemical vapours and direct water ingress.
- Airflow: Adequate airflow around the enclosure must be maintained at all times and the unit must not be covered, obstructed or used to support stored items.
- Service: The battery must not be opened, moved, modified or serviced by anyone other than Energy2 Ltd or an Energy2 approved battery energy storage engineer.
- End-of-life: Do not dispose of the Battery Pack with general waste. Energy2 provides a free take-back service for end-users — see below.
End-of-Life & WEEE Disposal
The Battery Pack must not be disposed of with general household or commercial waste at the end of its useful life. The crossed-out wheeled-bin symbol on the product indicates that the item must be returned for environmentally responsible recycling under the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations 2013 and the Waste Batteries and Accumulators Regulations 2009.
Free take-back service. Energy2 offers a free take-back service for end-users of its equipment:
- We arrange collection of the waste battery from the end-user at no charge, in accordance with regulation 32 of the Waste Batteries and Accumulators Regulations 2009.
- To arrange collection, contact [email protected] or 0800 112 6345 with the original system serial number where known.
- Do not attempt to dispose of a lithium battery in household waste, kerbside recycling, or by any other informal means. Lithium batteries can present a serious fire and chemical hazard if damaged, short-circuited or disposed of incorrectly.
Safe handling before collection. Whilst awaiting collection, customers should:
- Keep the waste battery in a dry, well-ventilated location away from combustible materials and direct sunlight.
- Avoid further mechanical impact, deformation, or exposure to water or other liquids.
- If the battery shows any sign of damage, leakage, swelling, discolouration, abnormal heat, smoke or odour, contact Energy2 immediately on 0800 112 6345 for urgent guidance and, where necessary, the local fire and rescue service on 999.
Energy2 Ltd is a registered producer of batteries and electrical equipment in the UK. Battery Producer Registration Number: BPRN12745. For the full WEEE & Battery Compliance Statement, see weee_compliance.html.
